I bought this stove 2 years ago when they were priced at $1050.00. For the money it is a great little stove for the money they are asking now there are a lot more stoves' out there with better features, like: Ash Draw and agitator. If this stove had that I would buy another one. But now you have to shut down the stove everyday to clean it and the 40lb. hopper only uses about 30lbs and then shut downs. If there were an agitator to burn all of the pellets you could get the 14 hours burning time instead you get about 8 - 10 hours. If they dropped their price back to $1050, I would buy this stove. It has not broken down and heats my whole 1600 sq ft house during our New England winters.

This is a great stove .I have had this stove for 3 burning seasons now,I run this stove on low,and it
heats my whole house to 70 degree's.My house is 1150 square feet.If i run it for 23 hours straight
on low it uses 1 bag of pellets.Only problem i have had with this stove is the auto starter burned
out 1 time,while still under warranty,There was no problem getting a new one,under warranty.easy to
deal with customer service.They did not question anything i said,sent me one in 3 days . I had
to install it my self ,but was real easy to do.and it did not void the rest of my warranty.

Q: how much clearance does it need form wall sides and rear?

A:You would be amazed at how close you can install this stove to combustible materials. I originally thought I would need about two feet of clearance, but even the official recommendation by the manufacturer is significantly less than that ... something in the order of 8 inches? I think the back corner of mine is within 6 or 8 inches of the sheetrock, and I haven't thought twice about the risk. When it's burning at full power, you can hold you bare hand next to the side and/or back of the unit without having to pull away. In short, all of the heat is designed to flow out the front.

The reason many people end up dissatisfied with this stove is poor documentation. The stove really will efficiently burn wood pellets, cherry stones, corn, and other biomass fuels. The problem is that the manual explains virtually nothing about how to adjust the stove to get an efficient burn out of any of these fuels.

The fuel/air mixture is controlled from a digital keypad on the side of the stove. It is rather cryptically labelled with the digits 1-9 and the letters A, B, and C. The manual says that A controls the auger speed which means it controls how fast fuel is fed into the burn chamber. B, it is claimed, controls blower speed. C stops the auger for 90 seconds.

We had recently moved to Portland Oregon from Los Angeles and needed to have a bit more heat than we could get from our wood stove. Q: OK, another question... I can't find anywhere that it says it has a ash bin. How much of a pain is it to clean?

you just need an ash vacuum, clean daily ashes takes about 5 mins at most. so far so good. maintain it and you will love it. also try different pellets, you wouldn't believe how they could differ in ash output. lowes had some that were good and some that were horrible. try different ones before settling on a brand of pellets.
