Q: how much clearance does it need form wall sides and rear?
A:You would be amazed at how close you can install this stove to
combustible materials. I originally thought I would need about two feet
of clearance, but even the official recommendation by the manufacturer
is significantly less than that ... something in the order of 8 inches?
I think the back corner of mine is within 6 or 8 inches of the
sheetrock, and I haven't thought twice about the risk. When it's
burning at full power, you can hold you bare hand next to the side
and/or back of the unit without having to pull away. In short, all of
the heat is designed to flow out the front.
